Chatbot ChatGPT received plugin support and learned how to access the Internet
OpenAI continues to actively develop its ChatGPT chatbot, announcing a long-awaited feature – plugin support. This allows the neural network to search the Internet for the information it needs in real time, rather than relying on its own database limited to 2021.
Plugin support allows ChatGPT to interact with the API of third-party services, which significantly expands the capabilities of the bot. For example, through the OpenAI open source plugin, it can be given access to personal or corporate data, including files, notes, emails, etc., after which, for example, in natural language, you can ask it to find the necessary fragments from documents. OpenAI has also developed a browser plugin that allows you to search for information on the Internet.
A total of about a dozen plugins are currently available, including the Zapier automation service and the Wolfram math problem-solving platform. Thus, the possibilities of ChatGPT become almost limitless. With the appropriate bot plugins, it will be possible to ask to order food, buy movie or plane tickets, and everything else that can be done using various online services.
So far, access to write plugins for ChatGPT is provided to developers by invitation. Users need to fill out a special form and be a ChatGPT Plus subscriber.
