Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 will receive an overclocked version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

One of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S23 was Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with factory overclocking. Recently, screenshots of the test results of the alleged Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 in Geekbench got into the network: it looks like both next-generation foldable smartphones will receive the same distinguishing feature.

According to the test report, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 (SM-F946U) scored 2014 points in the single-threaded discipline, and 5022 points in the load on all CPU cores. For the Flip5 (SM-F731U), these results are 5213 and 2030 respectively. In fact, this is the level of the Galaxy S23 Ultra (5258 / 1957 points).

In the overclocked version of 8 Gen 2, the frequency of the “big” Cortex-X3 core is increased from 3.2 to 3.36 GHz, and the GPU is overclocked from 680 to 719 MHz. Judging by the screenshots, both smartphones run on Android 13. The tested Flip5 clamshell received 8 GB of RAM, while the Fold5 model received 12 GB. The release of smartphones, according to rumors, will take place in August this year.
