Insider: Samsung Dual Folding Smartphone, Apple Watch Camera, and Pixel Tablet Dock

In this issue of Inside: Galaxy S23 FE will not be, but instead Samsung will show a smartphone in a new form factor; Apple has patented a camera in a watchband; Pictures of the Pixel Tablet dock have leaked online.

Samsung New Form Factor

There will be no Galaxy S23 FE, but instead Samsung will show a smartphone in a new form factor

Insider Yogesh Brar in his Twitter account published a post in which he spoke about the Samsung smartphone, made in the form factor of a double clamshell. According to him, the device will be shown this year together with the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5. Previously, the company showed prototypes of such gadgets at various exhibitions – Galaxy Flex S and G. The first folds into the shape of the letter S, when the middle screen is in the center of the “stack” when closed, the second – in the shape of the letter G, when the design of the smartphone resembles a book.

Brar also said that there is no mention of the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone in the Samsung production chain, so its release will not take place. However, if this information is true, then the cancellation of the release this year does not mean that the company decided to close the line forever.

Apple patents a camera in a watchband

The patent dates back to August last year, but it only appeared online this week. The text describes the camera for Apple Watch, which can be detached along with the strap. According to the company’s idea, the module should shoot photos in 12 megapixel resolution and 4K video with a frame rate of 30 or 60. The patent also says that the camera will be useful not only for taking photos or video calls, but will also be used as a Face ID sensor for recognition faces.

Pixel Tablet Dock Images Leaked

Google has already talked about the docking station of its upcoming Pixel Tab tablet. The images that got into the network allow us to consider it in detail: the body is lined with fabric, behind which, presumably, the speakers are hidden, and connectors for connecting to the tablet are visible in front.

The full functionality of the stand is not yet known. Once placed on the docking station’s magnetic holder, the Pixel Tablet is expected to start charging and enter “hub mode”. It will allow you to transfer content not only from the tablet to other devices, but vice versa. Other features include smart home device control, photo frame and smart speaker mode.
