Named iPhone models that will not receive iOS 17
Apple is known for long support periods for its devices, but sooner or later it ends. 2023 will not be an exception – according to the Mac Rumors portal, this year the list of “apple” gadgets that will switch to the latest firmware version is waiting for another reduction.

According to the source, Apple smartphones and tablets based on the A11 Bionic processor and older chips will lose the ability to update iOS this year. These are the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, iPhone X, the second generation iPad, and the first revision of the iPad Pro with a screen diagonal of 9.7 and 12.9 inches. All of these devices were introduced between November 2015 and November 2017.
In the new “black list” of the brand, according to insiders, there will be several exceptions. In particular, the transition to iPad OS 17 is attributed to the iPad sixth and seventh series tablets with the A10 Fusion chip, as well as the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch second generation iPad Pro based on the A10X Fusion platform.
The announcement of iOS 17 and iPad OS 17 will presumably take place at the WWDC conference , which will be held from June 5 to 9, 2023.
