VKontakte launches its own alternative to Photoshop and other useful services

VKontakte is waiting for large-scale changes aimed at improving user interaction with the social network, TASS reports with reference to the VK press service. The company has already announced the timing of the appearance of new features and applications, and also revealed the first details about upcoming announcements.

According to the source , in the second half of 2023, VKontakte will launch a multifunctional application for editing images and video content with machine learning algorithms. It, according to representatives of VK, will help increase the resolution of the video, remove objects, replace the background, retouch the image with one click, or “screw” the face of a celebrity in the video using a deepfake.

In addition, a new function will appear in the social network – automatic correction of spelling, punctuation and text style in communities with the ability to translate into four foreign languages ​​(by the end of the year – into eight). The design of the appearance of the communities, including the creation of covers and avatars for the profile, will also be handled by the neural network.

Also announced are such innovations as automatic dubbing of videos in Russian with voice adjustment to the original timbre, and a text editor with the ability to work together on tables, articles and other projects. In addition, the press service of VKontakte announced the launch of testing a global restart of the “Communities” section, and announced a new video editor in “VK Clips” with an expanded set of functions.
